What better way to kick off our 25th anniversary year than at Formula 1’s 75th Anniversary launch event at the O2 Arena, working for event producers Eighteentwentysix.
Having previously worked with Eighteentwentysix at the Las Vegas Grand Prix opening ceremony, TESS were once again engaged by them to provide full-spectrum safety consultancy at the first ever live unveiling of the F1 2025 car liveries.
TESS were responsible for managing all technical and operational safety for this event. This included being deeply involved in the planning phase; writing documentation, liaising with the venue and working closely with the Production Director and the production departments. In this time our team were able to balance developing bespoke emergency procedures while still aligning with The O2’s existing protocols and F1’s strict operational safety requirements.
Simon Carr was onsite for 10 days overseeing safety at rehearsals as the event team prepared to operate in time-critical, live broadcast conditions. Following this, TESS had oversight of the safe load-in of 40+ trucks of production equipment, including the delivery of all F1 cars and essential infrastructure into The O2. During the live broadcast, our team were also present to support in managing evolving risks in real-time under significant operational pressure. This was successfully achieved despite the challenge nature of a very tight timeframe (only 36 hours for install, show and derig), broadcast-critical timelines and high-level emergency protocol expectations.
This event was a world-first in motorsport, and our team did a brilliant job of ensuring the safe delivery of a complex, high-profile event, with all safety plans successfully implemented.
