Simon began his career in the events industry over 20 years ago while backpacking in Australia, where he worked building temporary structures for events and installing temporary ground protection for film studios and stadiums for concerts. Having discovered his love of the production side of live events during this time, his return to the UK saw him work as part of a team erecting stages and structures all over the UK and around the world.

After 12 years of hands-on building, Simon moved into project management of overlay and infrastructure, working on numerous amazing and technically challenging events worldwide. On Tim’s advice, Simon’s next progression was to move into event safety, inspired by TESS’ “can do” ethos and he has worked with TESS ever since. He is Mental Health First Aid trained, FPA CO6 Fire Risk Assessor certified and working towards an NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health & Safety.

Simon now leads TESS’ London office and considers himself lucky to have worked on many interesting and challenging events, ranging from touring South America with big bands, to advising on fashion shows, numerous festivals and mass participation sporting events like the London Marathon and the opening Cricket World Cup Party 2019 that was held on The Mall.
