Red Bull Racing Milton Keynes Home Run 2022

Sneaking in one more event before the end of the year, the Oracle Red Bull Racing Team returned to their home town of Milton Keynes to celebrate a record-breaking year of racing for the F1 Oracle team at their 2022 Home Run event.

Tasked with challenge of crowd management at the event, Simon and Adam set out to work with the Red Bull Racing team to navigate the challenges of hosting the event in the city centre on one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. Optimising the existing infrastructure of the city, the event site was designed in consultation with TESS to utilise the large car parks around the main boulevard, creating additional viewing and circulation space around the track and pits.

Devising multiple crowd management zones across the event site, the Crowd Management Team worked with mobile crowd safety response stewards to monitor and manage the circulation of crowds along the 1km stretch of track between the Milton Keynes Central Railway Station and city’s main shopping centre. With a multi-phase crowd control plan in place to respond to potential overcrowding in each zone, outlining trigger points and responsive actions, the TESS team approached the event fully prepared for a wide range of eventualities.

Through attendance at core production team and SAG meetings, we supported Red Bull in liaising with multiple stakeholders, including local authorities and emergency services, reassuring them that Red Bull is a responsible brand and event organiser, who despite their creative aspirations, takes their responsibilities very seriously.
